“WRONG DIAGNOSIS, & RUDE” I have a 2003 VW Jetta TDI which starts to shake a bit under load around 25 to 38 MPH. Dick Hanna Dealership said that the drive axles needed replacement since they had some play and they (THE DEALERSHIP) would stand behind their Diagnosis. Since I live so far away I took the car to North West Auto Specialist’s. They are in Longview were I live, closer and also were a bit cheaper. Told Terri the issue and diagnosis from the dealership. Asked her if they stand behind their Diagnosis, she said they do. Terri calls me back and says it was possibly something else. So being a trusting person I said ok but what if its not that. Terri was quite confident it was the issue and said it was a CHEAPER FIX. So they replaced the part and it still has the Shake. So when I went to pick up the car today, 1 April 2016 I told her I was disappointed, she offered to remove the part. Since it’s the weekend and I need my car for WORK, I opted to just take it and go back to the dealership. "At least I can semi-trust them". NW Auto could have at least not charged me for labor, (BAD DIAGNOSIS) I would have paid for the part, but Terri got real SNIPPY with me and I didn't want to argue with her. Also I don't think they will stand behind their diagnosis. Their labor rate is $90.00 per hour. Just be careful with this company, they might diagnosis one thing and it ends up being another, and you might get over charged with these folks. I'd recommend taking a foreign car to a dealership or a foreign car specialist and stay away from North West Auto Specialists.

I offered to remove the part several times when you were here paying the bill. You opted not to allow us to do this. When I called you with the diagnosis, I DID inform you that the axle shafts may still be needed, but we knew the strut mount was bad and this will cause vibration that can mimic bad axle shafts. I also made you aware of this when you first came into the shop to discuss scheduling an appointment. We do stand behind our work and our diagnosis.

Bought a used 2000 Buick Lesabre Custom from an estate. Very clean and nice riding automobile. SES light on, tachometer fluctuating, and intermittent and persistent misfire . Threw parts at it per codes; spark plugs/wires, coil packs, ICM, crank sensor, fuel pressure regulator, ECM, the list goes on. Referred by a friend to Northwest Auto Specialist Inc., He informed me that they are the best. He was correct. They found the issue that two other repair shops couldn't. To say that I am overjoyed with EVERYTHING about their service is an understatement. All of you backyard mechanics like myself who run into a brick wall, take your problem to Northwest Auto Specialist Inc. Their service, in my opinion, cannot be equaled. And their prices are great too. They most certainly ARE the best.

Best service I've ever had!!! Never brought in a problem they couldn't fix, and it's always worked with my wallet!!! Never take my vehicles anywhere else!

I have had both vehicles I have owned for the past 15 years maintained at Northwest Auto Specialist. They have always gotten me in promptly, done a full, honest diagnosis and well as worked with me and my budget...detailing what was pressing and what I could save for a future repair. The price has always been competitive if not the best around. I couldn't ask for better service and will continue to take all my vehicles there! Thanks guys!!!

Called in and asked if I could get an estimate, "sure no problem". Got the estimate back and after talking to other mechanics it was insanely high. I said, no thanks I'll pass. Went to pick the car up, only to be handed a $105 bill for the estimate. Thanks for nothing.

Terrible.

I didn't like a thing about this place. I didn't like their attitude. Had a vehicle towed in for repair. $2000 later had to have it towed home with a ruined motor which will now cost $10,000 to repair. They don't know how to repair certain cars. They don't guarantee their work. I would stay clear of this place.

Took my '99 VW Jetta there to have oil pan replaced. They called me asking if they could also replace the valve cover gasket - I said yes. 2 weeks later the oil level was very low, so I took I took it back. They said it was probably because it was a new oil pan. Must've thought I was born yesterday. I used to be a mechanic. That same day I drove home to California. Checked the oil and it was very low again. Took it to my usual tried and trusted auto shop. They found the new valve cover gasket was still leaking and 2 bolts had been broken off the oil pan. Contacted Northwest and was told they didn't break the bolts. They didn't even mention the leaking gasket. I guess the bolts must've sheared off all by themselves somewhere on HWY 80. At least they were fast to do their "work". $775.00, approx, was exceptionally expensive also.

Sir, when you emailed us with your concerns, I emailed you a telephone number for warranty. If in fact our repairs were faulty they would have repaired your vehicle at no charge to you. I am sorry you felt the need to post this when I tried to satisfy your concerns.
